Hi, I'm Riana, the maker behind The Suspicious Stitch.

I was born in Daly City, California, and my roots are a beautiful blend of Filipino, Iñupiat, German, and Polish heritage. Those different parts of my story have taught me to appreciate tradition, creativity, and the beauty of making something with your own hands. My Iñupiat heritage, in particular, has given me a deep appreciation for nature, resilience, and creating things with purpose, values that continue to inspire my work today.

Creating has always been more than a hobby for me. It's how I express myself, slow down, and bring ideas to life. Whether I'm embroidering, screen printing, crocheting, or designing something completely new, I pour care and intention into every piece I make.

My small business first began as Agnaatchiaqs Emporium, a place where I explored my creativity and shared my handmade work with others. As my business grew, so did my vision. I realized I wanted a name that captured not only what I create but also the feeling I hope people have when they discover it. That's how The Suspicious Stitch was born, a name inspired by curiosity, creativity, and the joy of finding something unexpected.
